May 25, 1989 - June 1, 1989- Protests continue, no real police system in Beijing.

June 3, 1989 - June 4, 1989- Soldiers shoot at unarmed citizens with an AK-47 loaded with ammunition meant for battlefields. Tanks run people over, crushing them. No one knows exactly how many people died over the two days. Initially, the Chinese Red Cross reports about 2,600 casualties, but later, after pressure from the government, they change that number, claiming about 241 people were killed.
